A New Year's Eve countdown event will be held at All Day Dining Grande Aile.

This is a special event to close 2024 and welcome the beginning of 2025 with a live jazz band performance.

 

Traditional New Year's Eve soba noodles will be served in addition to a light meal buffet with free-flow drinks including champagne.

[Performing artists]

Chriss Koyama (Vocals)

She became fascinated with American pop, rock, and jazz standards featured in American films and began singing them. In 2007, she began studying under Clyde W. Williams (The Voice Space). She started performing on stage in the same year. In 2008, she received voice training from Mary Feinsinger in New York. Currently, she performs live at jazz clubs and restaurants in Tokyo with various artists, mainly performing jazz standards and incorporating pop songs.

 

Masahiro Ishiwata (Piano)

He began playing jazz as a member of the Tokyo University of Science Modern Jazz Group. While still at university, he hosted jam sessions at Intro in Takadanobaba and played sessions with famous musicians from Japan and overseas. He is currently active in the Tokyo area, performing in live houses such as the Shinjuku Pit Inn, on tour, and at jazz festivals as well as on radio and TV. He also records CDs and corporate commercials, while also performing with his own band. He performed at FLATNINE, a live house in South Korea in 2022. He has also performed live with Neil Swainson, bassist of the George Shearing Trio.

 

Mitsuharu Furuno (Alto saxophone)

He entered the Jazz Department of the Osaka College of Music. While a student at Berklee College of Music in 2001, he received the Greg Larkin Award and the Woodwind Achievement Award. He also won third place at the 2003 Selmer Saxophone Competition. In 2004, he performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands as a member of the Chie Imaizumi Band. He led his own band and was active in Boston and other cities. He returned to Japan in June 2005.

 

Hiroshi Ikejiri (Bass)

He entered Chiba University, where he was a member of the Modern Jazz Society. He studied under Koji Yamashita. While still a student, he honed his performance techniques through proactive participation in jam sessions and street performances, gradually expanding his activities to include performances at live music venues. When part of an ensemble, he believes in supporting a solid foundation of sound while being the center of the excitement. In 2007, he won the Grand Prix at the Yokohama Jazz Promenade Competition.

 

Sumito Oi (Drums)

He became a jazz drummer at the Jazz Society of Tsukuba University, and started to study under Masahiko Osaka. While still at university, he began performing professionally after meeting pianist KAZU and has since participated in many bands and sessions, including the group led by vocalist and flugelhorn player TOKU. While engaging in performance activities, he studied various styles of drumming at the Drummers Collective, a drum school in New York. In August 2002, he received a scholarship to attend the Lake Placid Institute's Jazz Camp. He is currently active in various bands and sessions, while also energetically pursuing activities such as forming his own group in 2008. He also teaches at the SHOBI College of Music and is actively engaged in training the next generation of artists.
